Our home sites balance aesthetics with sustainability, integrating people with nature. We are dedicated to native environs and exceptional design. The trees, the light, and fossils we find are all part of the lifestyle that is valued at Colonia Serendipity.
Our environmental guidelines – some voluntary, others mandatory – focus on soil, water, vegetation, and wildlife. For example: preventing soil erosion and protecting water sources with contouring, native plants, pools and ponds for water retention, and the elimination of pesticides; protecting natural habitats for small animals and birds and planting native trees, shrubs, and flowers that attract birds and butterflies; encouraging water collection systems, composting, xeriscaping, and recycling.
Common areas will be landscaped with native plants and stone to support both the natural setting and a sense of place. If there is sufficient interest, space may be set aside for a community garden.
